Vennecia Jackson

Deacon

Vennecia, her husband Ray and their son Raymond moved to Texas from Tennessee in 1994. In her role as Director of Diagnostic Services at the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia, Scottish Rite for Children, she works with a multidisciplinary team to provide care for children with school-related problems. Vennecia has served in various ministries, including the IBC choir, Kids Team, Mission Honduras, Foundation, Formation, and Vacation Bible School. She participated in Be the Bridge and also enjoys Women’s Bible Study. Leaning into sacred time, reading and working out are among her favorite activities. Vennecia is persuaded that the multi-ethnic IBC community is fulfilling the Great Commission by being the hands, feet and heart of Jesus. Her heart as a deacon is to minister to the tangible/personal, emotional and spiritual needs of the IBC family as a privileged opportunity to offer affirmation, hope and healing, so others don’t have to struggle alone.
