Family Promise

Host with Us

IBC is one of 13 host churches in Irving committed to sharing the responsibility of hosting 3-5 families for seven days, every 10–13 weeks.

Family Promise of Irving is a faith-based non-profit ministry that supports families who are experiencing homelessness as they search for new jobs, undergo job training, and obtain affordable permanent housing. Their mission is to provide a safe environment in which families can stay together and receive the assistance they need to become self-sufficient.

During our host week, evening meals are provided for the families by IBC volunteers. Tutoring, activities and companionship are offered to the guests by IBC volunteers who arrive after dinner and serve as Overnight Hosts. In the morning the families are transported to the Day Center in a Family Promise van driven by IBC volunteers.

During the day, the families either go to their jobs or stay at the day center where they work with the Network Director to develop a plan for finding housing, jobs or job training. The Day Center serves as the permanent address for families and is also where families take care of personal needs (showers, laundry, etc).

Our next IBC host week is unknown, and we would love to have you come volunteer with us. Check out the needs and sign up in real time. One of our key volunteers will send you more information as we get closer to the date and answer any questions you might have.

We look forward to serving alongside you!
