If you look around on a Sunday, you might get the impression that the church is really good at two things: 1) taking up space and 2) making noise. We’ve got a big building with people and programming happening all over the place, plus we do a lot of singing, teaching, praying, and announcing. We take up space and we make noise on a regular basis—and I believe those are good things.

We live in a time and season that when you hear the word “church folk” you never know what will come next. Some have resolved to hear something negative before they expect a positive comment. Compiled on this, we also have a new trend where many enjoy church from the comfort of their home instead in the presence of “church folk.” Yet, whenever I ask what people desire from church, the answer is almost always "fellowship and community".
