Despite the stress of this current season, and any difficult circumstances we find ourselves in, God is worthy of our thanksgiving.
Last weekend I had to fly home because I got a call that my grandmother was dying. When I got to Mexico, I was so upset that due to covid protocols I would not be able to see my grandmother. I worried that she would die before I had to opportunity to see her and tell her how much she has meant to me all of my life. But then a still small voice whispered into my heart and reminded me that the protocols that kept me out of her room, were also the same ones that were keeping her safe. I found myself thanking God for the hospital staff because they were taking care of my grandmother so well. I was reminded of the Scripture in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 that says, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
After three long days I was finally able to see her. The doctors said there was nothing more they could do so they sent her home. I don't know when my grandmother will finally meet Jesus face to face and although I am pretty devastated, I know that God has everything under control. And I am thankful for that. He loves her more than I ever could. What are you thankful for? Consider making a list and spending some time in prayer giving thanks to the Lord.
Sincerely,
Janett Miller
