A Letter from Amy Aupperlee

Having attended IBC for 15+ years now, I wouldn’t have believed you then if you would have told me that in a few years, I would be writing a letter to the women of IBC about how humbled I am to be in such a position as Pastor to Women. Yet here we are, together, carried by the winds of God’s grace and pushed forward by His Truth. Someone pinch me.

One of the great joys of my life has been serving the women of IBC for the last seven years, nearly six of which have been on the staff of IBC. While I have had this incredible opportunity to serve as Events Director and Ministry Coordinator, it’s you, the Women of IBC, who have done the heavy lifting. You are the ones who have taught me by loving well, praying diligently, seeking truth, laughing heartily, and building community. And the good news is that we get to keep doing it together.

What a joy and honor it is to now lead and serve you. One of the aspects of this role that I am most excited about for you is that you already know me, and you already know Tiffany (Women’s Ministry Director), and we know you, and we get to continue on this journey together. And that reminds me of something I have learned over the years at IBC – we truly are Better Together. I’ve said it a hundred times and I will say it a hundred more. Following Christ is something we do in community, arm in arm, encouraging and challenging and cheering for one another with each step along the way, and women’s ministry is going to do exactly that.

IBC has a vision to be a multi-ethnic movement of missionary disciples, formed in the way of Jesus for the sake of the world. It’s a Kingdom size vision, and I know that together, we can go after it. I’m in, friends. And I hope you are too. This is a Biblical vision worthy of our collective passions, of course carried by the winds of God’s grace and pushed forward by His Truth.

I’m excited, honored, humbled, and ready. What a joy it is to keep walking arm and arm with each of you.

Love and prayers for each of you,

Amy
