Thanksgiving Bag Collection

October 13 - November 13

Every year, we collect and distribute bags of food to ensure that families in our community can celebrate Thanksgiving with a delicious meal. This year, our goal is to collect enough bags for TWO meal distributions: one at Townsell Elementary, and one at our local partner All Things Made New.

There are three ways you can help:

  1. Pack a bag using the shopping list below and drop it off in Town Square by November 13.
  2. Make a financial donation and let us do the shopping for you.
  3. Sign up to volunteer (your kids can join you!) at one of our bag distribution events on November 16.

 

Shopping list:

  • 4 canned goods: such as green beans, corn, yams, etc.
  • 2 bags or boxes: options include pinto beans, rice, or mashed potato mix
  • 2 cans or jars: choose from cranberry sauce, applesauce, or fruit
  • 2 boxes: macaroni or stuffing
  • 1 dessert mix: like cake, cookie, or brownie mix
  • A $20 gift card to Walmart or Kroger for purchasing a turkey and fresh produce
  • A brief note of encouragement
  • Include your favorite Thanksgiving dish or paper goods
  • Please refrain from including bread, rolls, chips, or any items that may easily crush or spoil.
